SCITON® FOREVER YOUNG® BBL

Sciton® Forever Young® BBL is a cutting-edge, non-surgical treatment designed to combat the visible signs of aging and promote healthier, more youthful skin. The magic behind Forever Young BBL lies in its ability to precisely target specific skin concerns, making it suitable for a wide range of skin types and tones. The treatment delivers pulses of broadband light to the skin, gently heating the upper layers. This process stimulates collagen production, a protein essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. The treatments can be used on different parts of the body, including the face, neck, chest, and hands.

What Conditions Can Be Treated with BBL?

  • Pigmented lesions such as freckles and age spots
  • Vascular lesions, including small blood vessels, rosacea, and other micro-capillary flushing conditions
  • Acne
  • Skin laxity
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Unwanted hair

After your treatment, you may experience mild redness and a sensation similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically subside within a few hours to a day. Over the following weeks, you’ll notice a gradual improvement in the appearance of your skin as collagen production increases and imperfections fade. Results depend on your skin’s condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated. We recommend avoiding direct sunlight, and if you are going to be outdoors, protect your skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

FRAXEL® DUAL LASER

Fraxel Dual is a non-ablative, fractional resurfacing technology with two wavelengths (1550nm and 1927nm). As with other types of lasers, this laser targets water in the dermis (middle layer of your skin) by gently heating it to cause controlled thermal tissue damage. The laser creates microscopic columns of tissue injury across the treated area deep into your skin, stimulating collagen production so the skin can heal itself. Using two wavelengths allows the laser to treat both superficial depths of your skin while the other wavelength is used to go deeper into the skin. Because it is a fractional laser, it also treats a smaller area at a time, leaving the surrounding tissue untouched. The Fraxel DUAL treatment obtains results without the harsher treatment of an ablative laser, allowing for shorter downtime.

These treatments are called skin resurfacing or skin rejuvenation for apparent reasons. They stimulate the growth of new cells to help smooth the skin by stimulating its natural collagen production.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of light that targets the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. The hair pigment absorbs the light and then turns into heat, damaging the follicles that produce hairs, and over time, this damage delays hair growth. Laser treatments will only work on hair in growth or anagen phases. This is the only time that the hair connects to the hair follicle. At any one time, the hair in your body goes through different phases. Therefore, when you go in for your first laser hair removal treatment, only about 20% of your hair will be affected.  Depending on the area, it can generally take up to 6 to 8 treatments, spaced out 4 to 8 weeks apart, to address the growth cycle. In about a week, you can expect the hairs to casually fall out of the follicle.

BOTOX® COSMETIC

Lines and deep wrinkles in the face are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying facial muscles used when you smile, laugh, or frown. BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses to the tiny facial muscles related to expression, preventing them from contracting. This purified protein derivative can effectively minimize, prevent, and reverse many of the lines between your eyebrows, across your forehead, and around your eyes.

The FDA has approved it as a safe and effective treatment for wrinkles and frown lines. A BOTOX Cosmetic session consists of several tiny injections into the targeted muscle by an experienced  Dermatology Provider. The results of the injections last three to six months and are a popular non-surgical treatment for reducing the signs of aging. It is also used for various medical conditions, including ophthalmological and neurological disorders.

DERMAL FILLERS – JUVÉDERM AND RESTYLANE®

Dermal fillers, also known as soft tissue fillers, are FDA-approved medical products used to create a smoother and fuller appearance to the skin and structures of the face. As we age, it is natural for our skin to start showing some changes as we lose some of the subcutaneous fat that supports our skin. Our skin also starts losing elasticity, allowing wrinkles to show on our faces. Injecting these fillers under the skin allows the lines and wrinkles to smooth out, while others can create structure on cheeks and chins. The most popular face areas to have dermal fillers are the nasolabial folds (the lines extending from the sides of the nose to the edges of the mouth), cheeks, chin, and lips. Fillers have also been FDA-approved for other body areas, including the tops of the hands and recessed scars.

  • JUVÉDERM: JUVEDÉRM fillers primarily function by replenishing lost volume, smoothing out fine lines, and augmenting facial contours. These injectable fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance naturally found in the human body that plays a role in maintaining skin moisture and volume. Since HA is a naturally occurring component, the likelihood of adverse reactions to the filler is relatively low. The hyaluronic acid within these fillers binds to water molecules, generating a plumping effect that diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles while enhancing skin hydration. JUVEDÉRM’s gel-like consistency ensures an even and seamless distribution, resulting in a natural and youthful appearance. The JUVÉDERM line of fillers offers various formulations, each catering to specific concerns. These include adding volume to cheeks and chin, working on fine lines around lips and mouth area, lip augmentation, filling fine lines and wrinkles, and working on jawline definition. There is sure to be one to help you with your skin goals.
  • Restylane®: This filler is primarily used to diminish the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines, particularly around the nose and mouth, as well as to enhance the lips and restore lost volume in the cheeks and chin. Restylane also has a line of fillers designed to work for particular concerns. The main types of Restylane include Restylane L, Restylane Silk, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Refyne, and Restylane Defyne. The minimally invasive treatment temporarily improves the skin’s overall appearance, resulting in a smoother, more youthful, and rejuvenated complexion. Results typically last 6 to 18 months, depending on different factors.

MICRONEEDLING

At DermaSpa, our expert Dermatology Providers use SkinPen® for our microneedling treatments. SkinPen stands out as the sole FDA-cleared medical-grade microneedling device designed to address various conditions on both the face and body, including:

  • Sun damage
  • Age and brown spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Acne scarring
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Large pore size

How Does Microneedling Work?

By generating thousands of precise micro-injuries or “micro-channels” in the dermis, SkinPen stimulates new collagen synthesis without causing scar tissue formation. This innovative technology leverages the skin’s natural healing process. As the microchannels are created, the skin responds by producing new collagen and elastin in the treated areas, resulting in a revitalized and fresher appearance.

What Should You Expect During Your Microneedling Treatment?

A topical numbing cream is typically applied to the treatment area 15 minutes before the procedure. The session lasts between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the size and number of areas treated and the severity of skin damage. The microneedling process opens up the skin and allows it to absorb products into a deeper level of the skin, thus helping with the rejuvenation process. While some redness and swelling may occur immediately after the procedure, patients typically experience minimal downtime.

Although individual responses vary, we advise a series of three treatments spaced out over 4 to 6 weeks each for optimal results. A personalized treatment plan will be tailored to address your specific skin concerns and goals.
