Liesel Ernst, PA-C

Certified Physician Assistant

Liesel Ernst PA-C is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant. She joined Bend dermatology in 2019 with eight years of experience practicing as a dermatology physician assistant.

Liesel received her bachelor’s degree, with honors, from the University of California at Berkeley and her master’s degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine/Medex Physician Assistant program. She was captivated by the field of dermatology during her training. Upon graduating from PA school in 2011, Liesel was hired by the department of dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where she received extensive training in dermatology and was on staff for three years. She left the Mayo Clinic in 2014 in order to move to Carson City, Nevada and then Medford, Oregon where she continued to practice dermatology prior to joining Bend Dermatology.

Liesel treats patients of all ages with skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, acne, and other skin conditions.  She is passionate about providing comprehensive dermatologic care and believes in developing a strong rapport with her patients.  “I see a lot of patients with skin cancer, rashes or other skin problems. These can sometimes be scary and overwhelming. One of the best parts of my job is helping people get better and seeing the relief they get when we find a solution to their problem.”

Liesel came to Bend with her husband, Will, who is a retired Bend Firefighter and a Physician Assistant. She is often asked about her name.  It is a German nickname for Elizabeth, and it is pronounced “Lee-zul”.  She loves Central Oregon and all the wonderful outdoor activities available here. When she is not working you will likely find her hiking, biking, fishing, camping or skiing with her husband. She also volunteers with Herd U Needed a Home dog rescue.
